Their artwork has been selected to be in the 2025 Vermont Wildlife Education Fund’s Student Art Competition. The theme of this year’s contest was Animals and Where They Live. They are two out of 50 artists chosen from schools across Vermont, and have a chance at winning one of 20 prizes. Both Nellie and Onyx put a lot of effort into their pieces showing outstanding creativity. Nellie created a barred owl in the woods titled “Quiet Canopy,” and Onyx created a wolf spider in a web, titled “Labyrinth.” They each used mixed media, including paper collage, paint, and pen. The winners will be selected at the Awards Ceremony on April 26th.
