About Mr. T. Page
Here's a bit of background information about
I grew up on Long Island, in East Northport, and graduated from Northport High School in 1992.
I studied Technology Education at the State University of New York,
College at Oswego, and graduated in December of '96.
After
a brief stint teaching Technology Education at Felix
Festa Middle School in Nyack, New York, then living in Flagstaff, Arizona, I
returned to my native Long Island/New York City area to continue my education.
I attended New York University for graduate studies in Environmental Conservation Education, graduating in April of 2000.
After working for a time with the City Parks Foundation, a NYC not-for-profit, building gardens in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and upper Manhattan, I decided to make the move to Burlington.
I have been teaching at EMS since 2002 and have really enjoyed developing the Design and Technology facility, working within EMS' food system, implementing the composting program, coaching soccer, teaching after school programs, building gardens and theater sets and props, supplying door stops and hall passes to the faculty, and much, much more!
For 11 summers (1996 - 2006) I have worked for Musiker Tours as a food manager, tour director, and tour coordinator. I have lead groups of up to 49 middle and high school-aged students for 3 - 6 weeks in the western United States, New England, and Canada, depending on the trip.
I have visited 49 of our unique states (Hawaii, here I come) and 29 of our magnificent National Parks, climbed 5 states' high peaks, and enjoy snow boarding, hiking, camping, running, reading, watching MSNBC, cooking and eating, gardening, and woodworking and ceramics.
I have recently become engaged and Erica and I are planning an August wedding. Erica is studying to be an elementary school teacher.
I have two nieces, Rachel and Hannah, who are very special. They live on Long Island with my sister, Lara, who is a U.S. Attorney. My Mom is a retired 6th grade master teacher who worked for over 30 years for the Wantagh School District.
My best non-human friend is named Wyatt, who is a Chocolate Point Siamese kitty from Oswego, NY. We've been pals for almost 12 years - he's the coolest!
