My name is Mrs. Wageman; I am the new site director for EMS Afterschool! I am looking forward to meeting you! I am excited to get to know your interests, and to create an amazing lineup of afterschool activities based on what you are interested in learning and doing. I am excited to play a part in building community throughout the school by providing opportunities for students to come together through shared interests and passions. I am committed to ensuring that all Afterschool activities are offered in a safe and positive space to grow and learn. Homework Help (HH) Information:

Morning HH (Mon-Fri) starts at 7:20. Students must arrive by 7:35, if late, students can wait in the cafeteria. Afternoon HH (Mon-Thursday) is from 2:50 – 5:00 pm (1:50 – 5:00 pm on Wednesdays). BE Above is a group that takes action and makes positive change! BE Above projects are all about helping young people in the Burlington community live free of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. BE Above members learn how to be leaders, go on trips, make videos and record radio spots, educate the community about the risks of drug use, speak with legislators, and much more! All EMS students are welcome!
Nature and Us: How do we Coexist?
Explore ways of working with nature and discuss ideas to help create a cleaner, healthier planet.
Come disconnect and utilize some tactile card and board games! We’ll have a range for every mood! From mellow and relaxing, to quick-thinking and fast-paced, to challenging and puzzling, we have games for everyone. Come join us!
LEGO Robotics Team
Try out for this team to build robots, create challenges, and compete in a regional tournament! The team is limited to 10 students. Students must be committed and show a positive attitude! See Mr. Andrus for details. Wednesdays and Fridays.
Does Racism still exist? What do you do when you encounter bias? What is recent American history around race? Come have a respectful conversation with us in a safe space.
SAS – Singing After School
Open to 6th – 8th graders looking for more opportunities to sing! This ensemble will tackle challenging music, learn new skills, and have fun! See Ms. Ott for more information.
D&D (Dungeons and Dragons)
D&D is a tabletop roleplaying game that is played using your own creativity and imagination. Create a character and band together with the others to solve dilemmas, engage in battles, and gather treasure and knowledge. Will you be a fighter, wizard, rogue, or paladin?

The Burlington School District believes that local field trips and after school programs make an important contribution to students’ educational experience. In order to help insure that these trips and programs are safe and educational for all involved, the District requires that this form be completed by the parent/guardian of all students who wish to attend field trips or participate in programs which are offered by the District during the current school year. In order for your child/ward to participate in the programs offered by the Edmunds Middle School After School Program you must complete this form.
