Teach Meet: Every Wednesday EMS staff share out lessons, activities, tools, that will help push students and help them further engage in their education. Yesterday, a group of teachers shared a “makers activity” that involved the use of Kiva blocks. The goal of this activity was to support students to become more independent through an understanding of the importance of directions. Teachers like the students had to construct a building with the blocks and write directions for the design. Another group then had to reconstruct the building with just the directions. A comparison of the two buildings prompted an evaluation of the clarity of the directions and a revision process.
